The nurse who received Kate Middleton’s prank call is found dead

The nurse who received a hoax call from two radio jockeys in Australia, disguising as Prince Charles and Queen Elizabeth to inquire about Kate Middleton’s health condition, was found dead on Friday, December 7.

The nurse named Jacintha Saldanha was treating the pregnant Duchess, who was hospitalized for a severe form of morning sickness.

The hospital said that the nurse has committed suicide. The police have said they are treating the death as unexplained, but they weren’t suspecting anyone for her death, which indicates that the nurse has killed herself. The police said they were informed about an unconscious woman nearby the hospital. Ambulance staff pronounced her dead when they arrive at the scene.

The nurse’s death follows after London’s King Edward VII Hospital issued an apology after they fell for a hoax call from an Australia based radio station and conveying details about Kate’s medical condition.

The hospital in an issued statement said on Friday, “It is with very deep sadness that we confirm the tragic death of a member of our nursing staff, Jacintha Saldanha. We can confirm that Jacintha was recently the victim of a hoax call to the hospital. The hospital had been supporting her.”

Prince William and Kate Middleton, who departed the hospital on Thursday, December 6, were “deeply saddened” by the incident.
