Kate Middleton’s Official Residence At Kensington Palace Praised

kate middletonKate Middleton and Prince William are ready to relocate to their official residence, Apartment 1A, at Kensington Palace in London soon.

The 31-year-old Duchess, who gave birth to her first child Prince George in July, has been praised for her makeover of her home, which has reportedly cost over £1 million to renovate.

A source told Us Weekly that Kate and Prince William’s home is beautiful, and this is a very exciting moment for them. Despite her pregnancy and attending to her royal duties, Kate still managed her time to pick everything from antique’s from the Royal Collection, furniture, and fabrics for her new apartment, which was once occupied by the late Princess Margaret.

The source claimed that the home has three kitchens, his and her bathrooms, one panic room well-suited for the small family, and Wi-Fi.

Kate has reportedly appointed her mom Carole Middleton’s favorite decorator, Anne Allen for the task, and she herself also got involved for her furnishings by combining expensive pieces with cheaper things. Antiques belonging to the royals, which includes a $50,000 Persian rug will be matched throws made by Peter Jones.

However, despite the massive overhaul, not everyone liked the makeover. Prince Charles, Kate’s father-in-law, is one of them. He isn’t a particular fan of the new décor, with insiders saying that it appears more like “Peter Jones” rather than the Kensington Palace.
