Breaking away from the royal traditions, Kate Middleton and Prince William will spend their Christmas with her parents, Carole and Michael Middleton, in their village home in Bucklebury, according to their office, on Saturday, December 22.
A spokesman at St. James Palace said, âThe Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will spend Christmas Day privately with the Middleton family.â
Traditionally, the royals have joined Queen Elizabeth II for Christmas at her country estate in Sandringham. Kate, who is pregnant with her first child and Prince William, took âthe Queenâs approval to spend the Christmas Day with Kateâs parents.
However, Kate and Prince William will make a stop at Sandringham as part of the Christmas celebrations. According to customs, set by Queen Elizabethâs father and grandfather, royal family members usually spend the Christmas at Sandringham estate and reside there until February.
