Pregnant Kate Middleton christened the new 3600-passenger cruise liner Royal Princess with a bottle of champagne slamming into the hull of the vessel in Southampton on Thursday, June 13.
This is the Duchess of Cambridge’s final solo engagement as she takes maternity leave on the same day.
A musical extravaganza was planned for the christening of the new cruise ship for Kate, who is almost 8 months pregnant and is due on July 13, and a blue carpet was laid out, instead of a customary red one for her arrival.
Spectators from the charities that have her husband Prince William and Prince Harry and herself as patrons have attended the event. The spectators came from East Anglia’s Children’s Hospice, which is Kate’s charity, SkillForce, Prince William’s charity and WellChild, which is Prince Harry’s foundation.
