Kate Middleton Increases Alexander McQueen’s Profits

Kate Middleton, as a fashion icon, boosted profits for British fashion brand Alexander McQueen last year.
Though, the Duchess of Cambridge has scored high mostly for her nude photos in newspapers, this fashion achievement have brought glory for the royal fashionista.

The “Kate Middleton” effect is said to have increased annual profits for Alexander McQueen by 27percent in 2011.This comes when the Kate Middleton wore an Alexander McQueen dress for her wedding to Prince William designed by Sarah Burton in 2011.

Burton described the dress, which was created with utmost secrecy as an “incredible experience” for the Alexander McQueen team. The Duchess was delighted too as the dress represented the best of British craftsmanship.

Kate Middleton wedding dress isn’t the only piece she’s has, in fact the Duchess has appeared in many formal events in McQueen’s creations.

Meanwhile, it isn’t Alexander McQueen that has benefitted by the “Kate” effect; Irish brand Orla Kiely has reported that increased sales has led the brand an increase in profits by 20 percent in 2012.
Orla Kiely believes that their profits received a boost when Kate was spotted donning a dove-patterned brown frock last February, which made the dress to be sold out within minutes.
