The film, which is based on the South African leader, features Idris Alba as Nelson Mandela, and Naomie Harris as Winnie Mandela. Zindzi Mandela, Nelson Mandela’s daughter and BAFTA-winner and director Justin Chadwick are all expected to attend the premiere and meet the royal couple.
The Royal Film Performance is an annual charity event for the Cinema and Television Benevolent Fund (CTBF), and is supported by the British royal family since 1946. This year’s event will be held at the Odeon Leicester Square in London on Dec. 5. Besides, the event will also benefit The Nelson Mandela Children’s Fund.
Meanwhile, it’s been reported that a piece of cake from Prince William and Kate’s wedding has been sold for $4,160 at an auction in Beverley Hills last week. A representative from the auction house has confirmed the news, but however, didn’t disclose the name of the buyer, according to E! News.
It wasn’t clear how the cake was stolen, but we can be sure that the Duke and the Duchess of Cambridge won’t be very happy over the fact that someone apparently sneaked in a slice of cake from their wedding and kept it safe for two years.
Prince William and Kate Middleton got married at Westminster Abbey on 29 April, 2011. Their first child Prince George was born in July 22.
